The width of the Red Sea is 305 km, the length is 1932 km, and the depth is up to 2,811 m. There are three zones in the bottom relief: a coastal shoal up to 200 m deep. The southern part is the widest, with coral islands, which attracts divers; a depression up to 1 km deep, occupies most of the bottom; a narrow trough with a maximum depth of 2811 m.

The Red Sea in Egypt is famous for its coral reefs and diverse wildlife. Invertebrates live among the colorful soft and hard corals: hedgehogs, crabs, shrimps, nudibranchs, octopuses, and stars. Large clams — tridacne with bright robes, bright red Spanish dancers, etc. Scorpionfish settle on coral reefs: rock fish, crocodile fish, lionfish. Remember that touching representatives of scorpions and many shells is life-threatening! Hundreds of species of tropical fish live in the warm water: kabobs, butterflies, angels, surgeons, triggerfish, clowns, parrots and others. During the dives, there are large fish — Napoleon, grouper, moray eel, pelagic — barracuda, shark, stingray, caranx. Divers especially remember encounters with dolphins, turtles, whale sharks, leopard sharks, hammerhead sharks, manta rays, and eaglets during diving in Egypt. In addition to the picturesque flora and fauna, divers are interested in wreck diving. These are ships from different times — wooden sailboats, warships of the Second World War, modern yachts. Most of the raks lie in the northern part of the Red Sea. Among them are the ship “Thistlegorm” and the ferry “Salem Express”.
