Siwa Oasis from Cairo

Isolated by hundreds of kilometers of desert, the Siwa oasis remained virtually independent of Egypt until the end of the nineteenth century, preserving its unique culture. And yet, despite its isolation, it has attracted enemies since ancient times. The legendary army of Cambyses was heading here when it disappeared during a sandstorm. Alexander the Great traveled to the oasis to consult with the famous Oracle of Amun. This beauty is definitely worth a look.
